About Eid al-Adha countdown

Eid al-Adha falls on the 10th of Dhu al-Hijjah. It is preceded by the Day of Arafah on the 9th and followed by the Days of Tashreeq, the 11th to the 13th. This page counts down to Eid in days, hours, minutes and seconds and updates every second. Below the timer are four cards: the start of the first ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah, the Day of Arafah, Eid day and the Days of Tashreeq, each with the days remaining and the Gregorian date including the weekday. Today's Hijri date is shown at the top.

The dates are estimates. The tool works them out with the tabular (arithmetic) Hijri calendar, the same method Adwaty's Ramadan countdown uses. Official dates depend on the moon sighting announced in each country and can differ by a day or two. The countdown runs on Kuwait time (UTC+3), whatever time zone your device uses. During Eid and the Days of Tashreeq a greeting shows which day of Eid it is, and once they are over the countdown moves on to the next Hijri year's Eid. All of it is calculated in your browser.

Why use it

  • Live countdown to Eid al-Adha in days, hours, minutes and seconds.
  • Separate cards for the Day of Arafah, the first ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah and the Days of Tashreeq.
  • Shows today's Hijri date and each occasion's Gregorian date with the weekday.
  • Counts on Kuwait time even if your device is set to another time zone.
  • Clearly labels the dates as estimates until the moon is sighted, and it is free with no sign-up.

How to use

  1. Open the page

The countdown starts on its own; there is nothing to enter.

  2. Read the timer

The four boxes show the time left until midnight at the start of Eid day in Kuwait time.

  3. Check the cards

See when the ten days begin and when Arafah falls, so you can plan fasting, your sacrifice and any travel.

  4. Follow the sighting

Once the Dhu al-Hijjah moon is announced in your country, go by the official date, which may differ from the estimate by a day or two.

Examples

Planning months ahead

On 30 October 2026 (18 Jumada al-Awwal 1448 AH) the page shows 199 days to the expected Eid on Monday, 17 May 2027, and 198 days to the Day of Arafah on Sunday, 16 May 2027.

Fasting on Arafah

If you plan to fast on the Day of Arafah, its card shows how many days are left; confirm the date once the start of Dhu al-Hijjah is announced.

Booking a sacrifice early

The card for 1 Dhu al-Hijjah shows when the month is expected to begin, a good time to contact charities or butchers.

On Eid day

On the morning of Eid the countdown boxes disappear and the page reads "Today is day 1 of Eid al-Adha"; the greeting stays until the last Day of Tashreeq.

Tips

  • Treat these dates as estimates and follow your country's official announcement after the moon sighting.
  • The arithmetic estimate can be a day or two ahead of or behind the official date, so avoid locking in plans that cannot move.
  • The timer ends at midnight Kuwait time, not at the time of the Eid prayer.
  • For Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr use the Ramadan countdown, and for the White Days use the White Days counter on Adwaty.
  • If your device clock is wrong, the countdown will be too, because it reads the time from your device.

The tool asks for no data; the Hijri date and the countdown are calculated in your browser and nothing is sent to a server.
