Excel to PDF

Convert the first sheet of an Excel file into a formatted, print-ready PDF — no need to have Excel installed on your device.

🔒 All processing happens right in your browser — your files are never uploaded to any server.

How to convert an Excel sheet to PDF

When you want to share a price list, an attendance sheet or a simple budget with someone who does not need to edit it, sending the Excel file can cause trouble: the recipient may not have the software, columns can shift on a phone, or values get changed by accident. Converting the table to PDF gives it a fixed look that opens the same way on any device.

This tool reads .xlsx and .xls files, takes the first sheet in the workbook, renders it as a table, captures it as a high-resolution image and places it in a PDF. All of this happens in your browser, with no Excel installation and no upload to a server.

How to use it

  1. Make sure the sheet you want is the first sheet in the workbook; if not, move it to the front and save.
  2. Drag the file onto Drag Excel file here (.xlsx, .xls), or click to pick it.
  3. Click Convert to PDF and wait for "Converting...".
  4. The result downloads automatically as sheet.pdf.

What appears in the PDF

  • The contents of the first sheet's cells, laid out in rows and columns.
  • Values as displayed, including saved formula results, not the formulas themselves.
  • One page sized to fit the entire table, rather than splitting it across A4 pages.
  • A uniform font on a white background, regardless of the original styling.

Practical use cases

  • Sending an updated price list to a customer in a format that opens easily on a phone.
  • Sharing a staff rota or weekly timetable without allowing edits.
  • Archiving a monthly expense sheet in a fixed format alongside receipts.
  • Attaching a small results or statistics table to a formal email.

Tips and limitations

  • Cell colours, borders, font sizes, charts and images are not carried over; the tool transfers the data as a plain table.
  • Other sheets are ignored. For several sheets, save each one as its own file and convert them separately.
  • Delete empty or unneeded rows and columns first, because very wide tables produce a large page that is hard to read.
  • The table is stored as an image in the PDF, so its text cannot be searched or copied.

To go the other way, try PDF to Excel. To turn sheet data into structured data, use Excel to JSON, and to combine the result with other documents, use Merge PDF.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do formulas show up in the PDF?

No. Only the saved result of each formula appears, exactly as a reader would see it in Excel.

Are cell colours and borders kept?

No. The data is shown as a plain table with a white background and a uniform font; cell styling and charts are not transferred.

How do I convert a sheet other than the first one?

Move the sheet you want to the first position in Excel or Google Sheets, save the file, then upload it here.

Why is the resulting page so large?

The whole table is placed on a single page at its actual size. Removing unneeded rows and columns before converting gives a smaller, more readable page.
