Trimming a short clip or pulling the audio out of a video should not require a heavy editing suite. The tools in this section handle the common jobs directly: cut a section of a video by setting start and end times, or turn a clip into an animated GIF for chats and slides.

For format changes there is an MP4 to WebM converter for lighter clips on web pages. You can also extract the soundtrack from a video as MP3, convert WebM to MP3, convert MP3 to WebM, or go the other way and turn an audio file into an MP4 video for platforms that will not accept audio on its own.

These tools run inside your browser using a web build of FFmpeg, so the video is never uploaded to a server. Because the work is done by your own device, long or high-resolution clips take longer, so it is worth testing with a short clip first. Keep the page open until the conversion finishes and the download starts.
