About Chat with PDF
Reading a hundred-page lecture, contract or tender to find one clause takes time. This tool works in two ways. A summary gives you the main points, either short or detailed with headings, and keeps numbers and names as they appear. A question you type gets an answer drawn only from the file, with the page it came from, such as (p. 4). If the answer is not in the file, the tool says so instead of guessing.
The file never leaves your device: the text is extracted in your browser, and only that text with its page numbers is sent for processing, never stored. The PDF can be in English or Arabic, and you choose the answer language. The tool runs on credits, and the price depends on the size of the extracted text and is shown on the button before you run it: a summary costs 2 to 6 credits and a question 1 to 3. A new account gets 2 free credits after confirming the email, enough to test it on your own file.
Why use it
- The file is not uploaded: the text is extracted in your browser, and only the text is sent and never stored.
- Every answer cites the page it came from, so you can open the original and check it yourself.
- If the answer is not in the file, the tool says so plainly instead of filling the gap from outside.
- Short and detailed summaries with headings, in English and Arabic, with numbers and names kept as written.
- A price shown on the button before each run, based on text size, and an automatic refund if a run fails.
How to use
Sign in
Press “Sign in and try it free” and type your email to get a one-time sign-in link, or continue with Google. New accounts get 2 credits after confirming the email.
Choose a PDF
Pick a file up to 30 MB. The text is extracted in your browser within seconds, and you see the page count and word count. If the file is scanned images, extract the text first with our free OCR tool.
Summarize or ask
For a summary, choose short or detailed with headings. For a question, type it in. Set the answer language and check the price on the button before you press it.
Read the answer and check the pages
Wait a few seconds and read the result. Open the cited pages and confirm important numbers and clauses before relying on them, because AI can make mistakes.
Examples
A student before a midterm
A 40-slide accounting lecture as a PDF. The detailed summary groups it under headings such as assets and liabilities and the balance sheet equation, with page numbers, so the student knows where to go back for each idea.
An employee checking a tender
They ask: “How long must the bank guarantee be valid, and for what amount?” The answer comes from the guarantees section with its page, such as (p. 12), so they open that page and confirm the percentage before preparing the bid.
A shop owner and a returns policy
An online shop policy written in Arabic, and the owner wants the answer in English. They ask whether opened items can be returned. If the policy does not cover that case, the tool says it is not in the file.
A researcher reading a long study
A 120-page study on groundwater. The short summary gives her the main findings in a few paragraphs, then she asks how the samples were collected to see if it fits her research. Each question is a separate run.
| Mode | Good for | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Short summary | A quick idea of a file before you read it | 2 to 6 credits by text size |
| Detailed summary with headings | Studying a lecture, reviewing a long report | 2 to 6 credits by text size |
| Specific question | A number, date or clause inside the file | 1 to 3 credits by text size |
| Follow-up question | Clarifying a point from an earlier answer | 1 to 3 credits per question |
| Scanned PDF | Image-only pages where text cannot be selected | Extract the text first with the free OCR tool |
Tips
- Ask a specific question that names what you are looking for, such as “What is the late delivery penalty?”, rather than “What does the file say?”.
- Combine related points in one question, because each question is a separate run with its own price.
- If the file is large and you need one chapter, save that chapter as a smaller PDF to lower the price.
- Start with a short summary to see what the file contains, then ask about the details that matter to you.
- Always open the pages cited in the answer, especially for contracts, amounts and deadlines.
Your PDF stays on your device and is never uploaded to us. Its text is extracted in your browser, and only that extracted text travels over an encrypted connection to our server and then to the AI model provider for processing; the result comes straight back to you. We do not keep the text, the question or the answer. We record only the time, the size in words, the mode, the credits used and the processing cost, so we can show your usage history and keep our accounts.
Frequently asked questions
Is the tool free?
It runs on credits, because every run costs us AI processing. A new account gets 2 free credits after confirming the email, which is enough to summarize a file of up to 8,000 words, or to ask two questions about it.
How many credits does one run use?
It depends on the word count of the extracted text. Summary: up to 8,000 words costs 2 credits, up to 25,000 costs 4 and up to 50,000 costs 6. Question: up to 8,000 words costs 1, up to 25,000 costs 2 and up to 50,000 costs 3. The price is on the button before you press it.
How much do credits cost?
One credit is $0.05. Pay as you go from $5 (100 credits), or pick a pack: $10 = 220 credits, $15 = 345 credits and $25 = 600 credits. You buy them once; there is no subscription and no auto-renewal.
Is every question charged separately?
Yes. For each question the tool reads the document text again to find the answer, so each question is a separate run with its own price, follow-ups included. Related questions can be combined into one.
What happens if a run fails?
Credits are taken when the run starts. If it fails for any reason on our side or at the AI provider, they go back to your account automatically and the refund appears in your history on the My credits page.
How large can the file be?
The file can be up to 30 MB, and the extracted text up to 50,000 words, roughly 100 to 150 pages depending on how dense the text is. For longer files, save the part you need as a separate PDF.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
Not directly, because scanned pages are images with no text to extract. Run the file through our free OCR tool first, then use the result here.
How do I know an answer is right?
Every answer cites the pages it used, such as (p. 4), so you can open them and compare. The tool answers from the file only, but AI can still misread things, so always check important answers against the file.
Which languages are supported?
The PDF can be in English or Arabic, and you choose the answer language yourself. You can summarize an Arabic file in English, or ask about an English file and get the answer in Arabic.
Do you upload or keep my file?
The file is never uploaded; its text is extracted in your browser and only the text is sent to the AI provider for processing. We do not keep the text, the question or the answer, only the time, word count, mode and credits used.
How do I buy credits?
On the pricing page, pick a pack and pay through our Gumroad store, PayPal, USDT on TRC20, or USDC on Solana. The credits are added to your account and appear on the My credits page.
Do credits expire?
Purchased credits are valid for one year from the purchase date, and free trial credits for 30 days. For a refund of unused credits, see our refund policy page or write to support@adwaty.net.
