AI Code Assistant: Explain, Fix & Convert Code

Paste code to get a clear explanation, a fix for an error, or the same code in another language.

About Code assistant

Reading code you did not write takes time: a function from a colleague, an error with no obvious source, an example in a language you do not use. This tool puts three jobs on one page. Explain gives you a plain-language explanation in English or Arabic, line by line where it helps, with what the code does and its time complexity (Big-O) when relevant. Fix takes your code, plus the error message if you have one, and returns the corrected code, what was wrong and how to avoid it. Convert gives you equivalent code in the language you pick, with notes on library and behaviour differences.

The tool does not run your code, and AI can make mistakes, so test the result before relying on it. Up to 150 lines costs 1 credit and 151 to 500 lines costs 2, shown on the button before you press it. New accounts get 2 free credits after confirming the email.

Why use it

  • Three modes on one page: explain, fix and convert, without jumping between tools.
  • Explanations in English or Arabic, with function, variable and library names kept exactly as they are in your code.
  • Fix mode gives you more than new code: it tells you the cause of the error and how to avoid it.
  • A fixed price shown before each run: 1 credit up to 150 lines, 2 credits up to 500 lines, and an automatic refund if a run fails.
  • We do not store your code or the result; we log only the date, size, mode and credits used.

How to use

  1. Sign in

Press “Sign in and try it free” and type your email to get a one-time sign-in link, or continue with Google. New accounts get 2 credits after confirming the email.

  2. Pick a mode

Choose Explain to understand code, Fix to solve an error, and Convert to move code to another language. In Explain you pick the explanation language; in Convert you pick the target language.

  3. Paste your code and check the price

Paste one file or snippet of up to 500 lines. In Fix mode, paste the error message in its own box if you have one. The line count appears under the box, and the price on the button changes to 2 credits once the code passes 150 lines.

  4. Run it and test the result

Press the run button and wait a few seconds. Copy the result, then run the fixed or converted code in your own environment and test it before merging it into your project.

Examples

A student explaining a Python loop in Arabic

A student has a function with two nested “for” loops that look for duplicate numbers in a list. In Explain mode with Arabic selected, they get each line explained, what the function returns, and a note that it runs in O(n²) time because every item is compared with every other item.

Fixing “undefined is not a function” in JavaScript

A page stops with “TypeError: undefined is not a function” when calling formatDate. In Fix mode with the message pasted, it turns out the file uses export default while the import uses curly braces. You get the corrected import line and a short explanation of named versus default exports.

Converting a PHP function to Node.js

A PHP function reads a JSON file and filters orders with array_filter. Converted to JavaScript, you get a function using fs/promises and Array.filter, with notes that PHP associative arrays become objects and that file reading in Node.js is asynchronous, so it needs async and await.

A Laravel validation rule that rejects the email on update

A “unique:users” rule on the email field blocks saving a profile even when the email has not changed. In Fix mode you get the corrected rule using Rule::unique('users')->ignore($user->id), and the reason: the rule was matching the email against the user's own record.

Which mode to choose
ModeWhen to use itWhat you get
ExplainCode you do not understand and want to know before changing itAn overview, line-by-line notes where useful, and Big-O when relevant
Fix, with the error messageAn error appears when you run the codeCorrected code, the cause of the error and how to avoid it
Fix, without an error messageThe code runs but the result is not what you expectLikely problem spots and a suggested corrected version
ConvertMoving a function to another language in your projectEquivalent code in the target language, with notes on library and behaviour differences
Explain after convertingYou want to understand the converted code before merging itAn explanation of the new code in your language, as a separate run

Tips

  • Remove API keys, passwords and database connection details before pasting, and replace them with placeholder values.
  • In Fix mode, paste the full error message with the line number; it is the most useful clue to the cause.
  • Paste only the function or section related to the problem, so the code stays under 150 lines and costs 1 credit.
  • Add a comment at the top with the version you use, such as PHP 8.2 - Node.js 20 - Python 3.12, so the answer fits it.
  • After converting, check the library names and make sure they are installed in your project; some functions live in a different library.

Your code travels over an encrypted connection to our server and then to the AI model provider for processing, and the result comes straight back to you. We do not keep the code or the result in our database. We record only the date, the code size, the mode, the credits used and the processing cost, so we can show your usage history. Please remove API keys, passwords and any other secrets from your code before pasting it.

Frequently asked questions

Is the tool free?

It runs on credits, because every run costs us AI processing. A new account gets 2 free credits after confirming the email, which is enough for two runs on code of up to 150 lines.

How much does one run cost?

Up to 150 lines costs 1 credit and 151 to 500 lines costs 2. One credit is $0.05. Pay as you go from $5 (100 credits), or pick a pack: $10 = 220 credits, $15 = 345 credits and $25 = 600 credits, bought once with no subscription.

What happens if a run fails?

Credits are taken when the run starts. If it fails for any reason on our side or at the AI provider, they go back to your account automatically and the refund appears in your history on the My credits page.

How much code can I paste?

Up to 500 lines per run, which is about 40,000 characters. For longer code, split it into functions or sections and run each one separately.

Which programming languages are supported?

Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, PHP, Java, C#, C, C++, Go, Rust, Kotlin, Swift, Dart, Ruby, SQL, Bash, HTML, CSS and other common languages. In Convert mode you pick the target language from the list.

What language is the explanation in?

You choose English or Arabic before running. In Arabic explanations, function, variable and library names stay in English exactly as they appear in your code, so they match what you see.

Does the tool run my code?

No. It reads and analyses the code only; it does not run or test it. Run the fixed or converted code in your own environment and test it before using it, because AI can make mistakes.

Can I upload a whole project?

No. The tool works on one file or snippet per run. If a problem spans several files, paste the related parts together within the 500-line limit.

How reliable is the Big-O note in Explain mode?

Time complexity is given when it is meaningful, such as for loops, searching and sorting, and it comes from reading the code, not from running it. Treat it as an estimate that helps you understand the code, and check it yourself when performance matters.

Do you keep the code I send?

No. We keep only the date, size, mode, credits used and processing cost. The code passes through the AI provider to be processed, so remove API keys, passwords and other secrets before pasting.

How do I buy credits?

On the Pricing page or the My credits page, pick a pack and a payment method: our Gumroad store, PayPal, USDT on TRON (TRC20) and USDC on Solana. For questions, email support@adwaty.net.

Do credits expire?

Purchased credits are valid for one year from the date of purchase, and free trial credits for 30 days. The details are on the credits terms page, and refunds are covered on the refund policy page.
