About Kuwait National Day countdown
Kuwait celebrates two days in a row every February: National Day on the 25th and Liberation Day on the 26th. This countdown shows the time left until the nearer of the two in days, hours, minutes and seconds, and it updates every second without reloading the page. Below the main timer there is one card for each occasion with the days remaining, the full date including the weekday, and the anniversary number: National Day is counted from independence in 1961 and Liberation Day from 1991.
The countdown always uses Kuwait time (UTC+3), not your device's time zone. If you are studying abroad or travelling, it still runs to midnight in Kuwait. On 25 February the page shows a National Day greeting and the main timer switches to Liberation Day; on 26 February it shows a Liberation Day greeting and starts counting to the following year's National Day. Everything is calculated in your browser and nothing is sent to a server.

Examples
Planning February leave
On 30 October 2026 the page shows 118 days to National Day (Thursday, 25 February 2027) and 119 days to Liberation Day (Friday, 26 February 2027), so you can see both fall next to the weekend.
A student abroad
A student in New York opens the page on the evening of 24 February local time. It is already 1:00 a.m. in Kuwait, so the National Day greeting appears, because the countdown follows Kuwait time.
School and office events
An event organiser watches the days remaining to schedule orders and decorations weeks ahead of the celebrations.
Liberation Day itself
On 26 February 2027 the page reads "Today is the 36th anniversary of Kuwait's liberation" and starts counting to the 67th National Day on 25 February 2028.
| Year | National Day (25 Feb) | Liberation Day (26 Feb) | Anniversary |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2027 | Thursday | Friday | 66th / 36th |
| 2028 | Friday | Saturday | 67th / 37th |
| 2029 | Sunday | Monday | 68th / 38th |
| 2030 | Monday | Tuesday | 69th / 39th |
Tips
- The timer counts to midnight at the start of the day, not to a specific event such as fireworks.
- The official holiday may be moved or merged with the weekend by a Cabinet decision, so check the government announcement before booking travel.
- To count down to a specific hour, use Adwaty's general countdown timer and set the time yourself.
- Keep the page open on a screen in the office or classroom so everyone can follow along.
- Anniversary numbers are counted from independence in 1961 and liberation in 1991.
The tool asks for no data at all; the countdown is calculated in your browser and nothing is sent to a server.
